As someone just starting their career in science, it's easy to feel like I've got nothing to offer but naive optimism and fearful obedience. I forget that it was my brain that got me here, and that brain is still relatively functional.


This video details a little known fact about the Apollo 12 mission - that a total noob brought the entire crew back from the edge of peril... simply because he was observant!

 

I'm going to remember this the next time I'm feeling irrelevant. Which is pretty much every day.
