Without the Big Bang, we would never have expanded out of the subatomic soup enough to have come up with the concept for the Big Bang; quite arguably one of our greatest accomplishments to date. Of course, if you don't believe in the Big Bang, you might think that we, and the Big Bang, just spontaneously formed one day, or were created by some super-intelligent life form. Which, now that I think about it, is true in the case of the Big Bang, but not in the case of us as a whole.
